It's kind of hard getting back in the groove of this writing thing. However, I was just reading a blog from Million Dollar Journey and it really caught me. It was about an experience travelling and whilst on the trip her son got very ill.
My concern when we travel is if the kids fall ill and we have to take them to the hospital. What kind of insurance coverage should we have for the kids when travelling. Not to mention ourselves as well.
I remember falling ill in New York a few years back and it was in the early part of December. I could not eat or drink anything without bringing it back up. Eventually I had to be taken to the hospital and put on drips as I was seriously dehydrated. That costs quite a sum. So, naturally Insurance coverage for myself, hubbie and kids is a concern when we travel.
Another interesting thing is disability insurance. Although in my case I wonder if I could even get such a thing and from all accounts insurance companies are not really about covering things that are likely to happen. I say this as I am hard of hearing and I am not sure how they will evaluate premium payments and probabilities of this occuring.
The comments from Million Dollar Journey brought some interesting points though. One person brought up an interesting lists of considerations for people: The list included:
1.Travelling Insurance
2.Disability Insurance
3.Living Will and Power of Attorney
4. Letting a trusted family member know where these documents etc are......
So much for not knowing what to write about.........
