Independence Day

I must say this week has been difficult getting any writing done but it is to be expected. My body is just getting back into the system of work and now add to the equation school and nursery. The kids are at two different points whereas they were initially both at the same nursery, so dropping them and then heading to work was a breeze. It's going to take getting used to but it has to be done

That said, it has been a challenge getting anything else done, like studying or research on my interest of being an entrepreneur. I still have to get a Business Plan. I have the Business Idea(still not sure if that is a feasible idea) but hopefully the Business Plan will give me some idea of where it could go.

I really wanted to talk about Independence this week as my twin island republic celebrated 47 years of Independence from the UK. Still relatively young when compared to the First World countries like USA. However, I was thinking in terms of what it meant for me. Having my own source of income, owning my own home and being able to meet those basic needs we all have without having to be in the so called "Rat Race". It's the same with Independence for us as a Nation. Controlling our own resources, choosing our own leaders and deciding how our resources are channeled and developed. It is this same need I feel as an individual and I think as a nation and as a people we have not developed a mentality of entrepreneurship and independence. Although, the Government have several programmes now in place to change that view(like a Financial Literacy programme etc). These programmes seem almost reactive rather than proactive.

Maybe, as they say it's better late than never but the mentality change also starts at home.Whereas, my saving started from what my Mom taught me and that probably started with what her parents taught her and so it goes.

The gist of it all is the spirit of Independence and sometimes going out on a limb not knowing where it could lead but at least planning and trying to steer it in a direction that could be worth your while.

Time,time,time.......

School has reopened and the time is now more precious than ever. Never mind it's just pre school for my son(can't believe he will be going to school already!). There will now be homework, supervision of it and not to mention a very active toddler racing to join her brother in everything(mostly the mischief kind).

ANyway, with time being so precious and I am still preparing for his first day this week, it means a very short blog and lots to complete tonight since i also have to work in the morning as well. It's a whole new term and it feels like that for me too since I have started something new as well. So I will understand if he has any nervous feelings.

Well, this week is turning out to be hectic as it is, so when things settle in I can refocus and get back to what my mission is about and how to go about it.
